David Cameron was mocked today after his “cringeworthy” tribute to Muhammed Ali saw him quote the great boxer in the Commons.

Speaking at Prime Minister’s Questions this afternoon, the Tory leader was met with a bowl of silence after claiming he tried to “float like a butterfly and sting like a bee” while at the Despatch Box.

Cameron made the remark after Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn kicked off his questions to the Prime Minister with a tribute to Ali, who died last Friday.

The Prime Minister's attempt to ape the great man was met with ridicule on social media.
