Radiohead's New Song 'Burn The Witch' Debuts, After Band 'Erase Themselves From Social Media'

With no fanfare, the group have unveiled their first new song in five years.

Radiohead fans can breathe a sigh of relief, as the group have now unveiled their new track, ‘Burn The Witch’.

Over the weekend, the group’s followers noticed some strange behaviour on Radiohead’s social media pages, as their Facebook, Twitter, official website and yes, even their Google Plus pages, were all completely erased of anything, including past posts, pictures and videos.

This led to speculation that new music was on the way, particularly as it coincided with fans receiving a curious note in the post containing the message, “Sing A Song Of Sixpence That Goes ‘Burn The Witch’”.

The band have now confirmed this to be the case, tweeting a link to their new music video on Tuesday (3 May), with a new album also expected to be on the way.

The macabre stop-motion video mixes brightly-coloured and childish imagery with imagery related to witch trials and cults, culminating in a man being burned alive while the characters wave towards the camera.

‘Burn The Witch’ marks a return to the music scene for Radiohead, who last treated us to new material back in 2011, with the release of their album ‘The King Of Limbs’.

Over Christmas, Thom Yorke posted a demo of a new track called ‘Spectre’, which he later revealed he’d initially written as a potential theme for the ‘James Bond’ film of the same name.

Radiohead are currently scheduled to perform a string of live shows in venues around Europe, including a handful of sold-out nights at the Roundhouse in London later this month.
