Rebekah Vardy has revealed she and her Dancing On Ice partner suffered an accident during rehearsals that led to him being taken to hospital.

The reality star and wife of Jamie Vardy is one of 12 celebrities currently gearing up to take part in the new series of the ITV skating show, and has been in training for her first performance since last year.

It sounds like it hasn’t all been smooth sailing, though, with Rebekah admitting that she did recently end up putting professional skater Andy Buchanan in hospital.

“I seem to be the only one who’s ended up hurting my pro, putting him in hospital,” she joked. “I do apologise.

“No, it was awful; I think I’ve just come to terms with scarring his face.”

Rebekah continued: “We were practicing a trick and we changed it slightly from something that we would normally do – and we did it on a daily basis and everything would go right and nothing would go wrong.

“On this occasion, it went very wrong and the back of my heel and my blade sliced his face open.”

She insisted: “He was fine. All he was concerned about was making sure that he could skate the next day, where I was not interested in that in the slightest, I just wanted to make sure that he was OK.

“It was quite scary. But it brings back the realisation that what we’re doing is really bloody dangerous, but he’s fine. It’s a bit dramatic but he’s OK.”

The new series of Dancing On Ice launches on Sunday night on ITV, with TV personality Myleene Klass, rapper Lady Leshurr, West End performer Denise Van Outen and comedian Rufus Hound also taking part.

Also on the line-up are TOWIE and The Mummy Diaries star Billie Shepherd, Olympian Colin Jackson and ex-Coronation Street star Faye Brookes.
