Rocking a Rok Espresso

Being a Yorkshire Lass I was raised on a cup of builders tea, preferably Yorkshire Tea, as part of my daily life. In my youth I found coffee too earthy and bitter. As I grew into adulthood and became introduced to milky, hot, frothy coffee I didn't end my relationship with tea but in fact added in a new relationship with coffee.

As coffee became more common place in my life, I evolved from granules, to ground beans and then to daily cafetieres of strong, pungent coffee loaded with piping, hot steamy milk zizzed with my zizzer to make it light and bubbly. This has become part of my daily ritual with at least one of these fine cups a day.

Now I have tried coffee machines, but they are bulky and complicated, difficult to clean. A cumbersone addition to my already cluttered kitchen work surfaces. The cafetiere has been the coffee maker of choice but even that is irritating to clean as it involves filling it with cold water and stirring it out as I chuck it on my garden. Apparently, coffee granules help your garden grow. Even my slugs now have a penchant for a medium roast Ethopian blend.

So when I was offered the Rok Espresso to test out I was very keen to give it a go.

It arrived in a fabulous tin. It was a good sign. The sort of tin you already want to own regardless of it's contents. Inside, the tin was piece of design and engineering beauty.

There is something deeply fabulous and satisfying about making coffee with the Rok Espresso. It's light, durable, robust, easy to use, easy to clean and looks stylish. The handles remind me of those really expensive wine bottle openers that suck corks out of bottles. There is something ritualistic about using the device as it smoothly pumps the coffee nector into your cup poised with milk frothed, hot and ready to receive it. Then in a heartbeat, by unclicking the bit that holds the coffee granules and just simply bashing it into the bin, or a tub, to be despatched later to feed the slugs coffee habit.

Now I look forward to rocking a Rok Espresso every day and for everyone who crosses my threshold as I show off my new streamlined, ergonomic, stylish kitchen accoutrement - it's #amazeballs
