Spalding Shooting: 3 Dead In Lincolnshire Swimming Pool Firearms Incident

Three people including a suspected gunman have been shot dead in a firearms incident near a swimming pool in Spalding.

Reports name the trio as mother and daughter Claire, 50 and Charlotte Hart, 19 and father Lance Hart, 57.

A statement from Lincolnshire Police said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident, which took place on Pinchbeck Road, in the vicinity of the Castle Sports Complex.

Officers arrived at the scene after being called at around 9am.

The statement added: “There is no indication that this is a terrorist-related incident and no shots have been fired by police.

“We would urge members of the public to stay away from the area at the present time.”

Air ambulance, land ambulances and six police vehicles are present and local businesses were asked to keep their doors locked in the immediate aftermath of the incident.

Labour Leader Jeremy Corbyn has tweeted his condolences, calling the incident “shocking”.

Spalding is a market town with a population of just under 29,000 at the 2011 census.

Witnesses to the incident are asked to call 101, quoting incident number 92 of 19 July.
