'Strictly Come Dancing': Georgia May Foote Responds To Giovanni Pernice And Laura Whitmore Reports

The former 'Corrie' star split from her dance partner last month.

Georgia May Foote has fired back at claims she is worried ex-boyfriend Giovanni Pernice will find romance with partner Laura Whitmore on the new series of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.

Fans of the BBC ballroom show saw Laura paired up with the Italian pro dancer on Saturday (3 September) night’s launch show - just days after it was revealed he had split from Georgia, who he met on last year’s series.

It was later claimed the former ‘Coronation Street’ actress was concerned a romance would develop between them, with a source telling The Sun: “Georgia knows just how intimately the couples have to dance and is terrified that Giovanni might hook up with Laura.

However, she later took to Twitter to rubbish the claims, wishing the pair the best of luck for the competition.

She wrote:

Proving there was no bad feeling between her and Giovanni, she also posted a birthday message to him on the social networking site:

The pairing could have proved to be awkward, given Laura and Georgia are also friends, having enjoyed a bank holiday night out together with Caroline Flack and Ashley Roberts last month.

Georgia announced her split from Giovanni on Twitter at the end of last month, telling fans: “Although it was not an easy decision to make, sometimes you realise that it is better to be friends and this is one of those times. We both have very busy work schedules for the rest of the year so we are both going to focus on our upcoming work projects and we wish each other well for the future.”

She later posted a string of tweets where she insisted that their relationship had not been “fake”, adding: “I still love him very very much. But things change.”
