‘Strictly Results’: Vick Hope Hints Producers Helped Save Seann Walsh In Dance-Off

'There was this stunned silence, it was a really weird atmosphere.'

Vick Hope became the fourth celebrity to be sent home from ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ this weekend, but the Capital Radio host has hinted that the decision may have fallen into the hands of producers.

Vick found herself at the bottom of the leaderboard on Saturday’s show when her Cha Cha Cha routine failed to impress the judging panel, scoring just 20 points of a possible 40.

Following this, she and partner Graziano Di Prima wound up in the bottom two, competing against comedian Seann Walsh and Katya Jones in the dreaded dance-off.

Many viewers were unimpressed with the decision to save Seann and Katya, who still have their kissing scandal hanging over them, which Vick’s fellow Capital Breakfast Show presenter Roman Kemp picked up on.

Speaking on their show on Monday morning, Roman said: “It’s not the best kisser that gets through.”

Vick then revealed that producers had a discussion before the judges gave their final decision.

“There was a conflab with the producers and then they gave their decision,” Vick revealed. “There was this stunned silence, it was a really weird atmosphere.”

Roman then asked Vick about Shirley’s attitude towards her, hinting there may have been some beef.

Vick said: “I think I’ve gotta be careful what I say here, because you never know what someone’s thinking. And it was from week one that people were suggesting there was something there, I don’t know. It’s been consistent and Saturday night I really felt it was just weird, wasn’t it?

“I’d never really been spoken to like that. She really relished in it.”

Meanwhile, Danny John-Jules became the first of this year’s contestants to get a 10 from the judges.

In Saturday night’s live show, Danny and his professional partner Amy Dowden wowed the judges with their most impressive routine yet, performing a Jive to Ellis Hall’s ‘Flip, Flop And Fly’.

They ended up coming out on top of the leaderboard with the highest score of the night, and the series so far, scooping 37 points of a possible 40.

It was Darcey Bussell who gave him his 10 points, while Craig Revel Horwood, Shirley Ballas and special guest judge Alfonso Ribeiro each gave him 9.

Strictly Come Dancing’ continues with its annual Halloween special on Saturday night (27 October) at 7.50pm on BBC One.
