'Strictly Come Dancing': Brendan Cole Stays In Despite Lung Infection, Naga And Pasha Go Home

Strictly Come Dancing’s Brendan Cole proved his professionalism this weekend, dancing not once but twice after a lung infection forced him to go to hospital on Saturday morning.

Brendan, who viewers saw clutching his chest after performing on Saturday night, was forced to take to the floor once again, to compete in the dance-off with his partner Anastacia.

It was Naga and Pasha who had to go home this week after competing in the dance-off against Anastacia and Brendan

The couple had to face BBC Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty and her parnter Pasha Kovalev, as the two lowest scoring pairs, once the judges’ scores from Saturday night had been combined with the result of the viewers’ vote.

Both couples performed their routines once again. Naga and Pasha did their Charleston to ‘Minnie The Mermaid’ by Firehouse Five Plus Two, while Anastacia and Brendan performed their Rumba to ‘The Way We Were’ by Barbra Streisand.

The judges’ vote was unanimous and they all chose to save Anastacia and Brendan, with Darcey Bussell praising their “performance value and natural artistry”, and Bruno Tonioli crediting their “much cleaner, slicker and more rounded performance”.

Naga was gracious in defeat, crediting her professional partner for her progress this far: Getting to know Pasha, working with Pasha, I’ve loved every minute of it, your patience, your brilliance with your choreography and just being the best teacher I’ve ever had.”

‘Strictly Come Dancing’ continues on BBC One on Saturday and Sunday evenings.
