Strictly Come Dancing pair Kelvin Fletcher and Oti Mabuse have admitted things between them haven’t always been harmonious behind the scenes.
Kelvin and Oti have provided some of this series’ most memorable moments, bagging the first 10s of the series for their Charleston during Movies Week and getting the judges extremely flustered after their Rumba last week.
But while their performances have led to them being frontrunners in the competition, they’ve revealed that their training sessions this week haven’t always been smooth sailing.
In a video shared on Oti’s Instagram Story on Friday, Kelvin revealed: “It’s been a hard week. A hard week. We came to blows a few times…”
Oti agreed it had been an “emotional” few days of training, but added: “We got there in the end. And I’m excited.”
Despite being an early favourite for this year’s Glitterball Trophy, Kelvin wasn’t actually supposed to be on this year’s line-up, only signing up as a replacement when reality star Jamie Laing was unable to compete due to an injury.
Reports have claimed that the former soap star was initially supposed to be competing on the upcoming series of Dancing On Ice, but was poached by the show’s BBC rivals.
This week, he and Oti will be hoping to deliver another show-stopping routine with a Cha Cha Cha performance set to former contestant Aston Merrygold’s song Get Stupid.
Meanwhile, last week’s top-performing pair Karim Zeroual and Amy Dowden will perform the Salsa set to the 2000s novelty hit Who Let The Dogs Out, while Mike Bushell will dance the Samba to Jump On It by The Sugarhill Gang.
