'Strictly Come Dancing': Stacey Dooley Dominates Leaderboard With Foxtrot Routine

It's not all about Seann and Katya, you know?

You’d be forgiven for thinking that last night’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ was a special episode devoted to Seann Walsh and Katya Jones, but even away from the pair everyone is talking about, this week’s live show was still as action-packed as ever.

After an impressive couple of weeks in the competition, it was documentarian Stacey Dooley who came out on top of the leaderboard on Saturday night, alongside professional partner Kevin Clifton.

The pair were the last to perform on night, and won 33 points of a possible 40 from the judges for their routine to ‘Hi Ho Silver Lining’, putting them at the top of the pile.

At the other end of the scale was TV personality and model Katie Piper, whose Jive to ‘Why Do Fools Fall In Love’ did little to impress the judges.

She and partner Gorka Marquez only managed to scoop 18 points from the panel, a drop from last week’s performance, after which the judges all noted an improvement in Katie’s dancing ability.

And despite bookies naming them the favourites for the chop, and the man himself admitting a “difficult week” had hindered their rehearsals, Seann and Katya wound up coming in fifth place overall.

Their Charleston routine to ‘Bills’ earned them 28 points, making the comedian the top-scoring male celebrity of the evening, no doubt a relief for both him and Katya.

After a week of dominating the headlines, ‘Strictly’ pretty much glossed over the media furore that has surrounded Seann and Katya ever since they were caught on camera kissing last week.

Find out which two celebrities wind up in the bottom two, and who the judges decide to eliminate, in the ‘Strictly’ results show, on Sunday night at 7.45pm on BBC One.
