What's your blog all about?

My blog primarily focuses on my experiences of growing up and being a university student with dyspraxia, but it also has a lot of focus on my shyness and general social awkwardness. It is made up of funny stories of some of the less than intelligent things I've done, advice for people/parents of people with dyspraxia, and my thoughts on what should be done to help people with learning difficulties, plus just general information on how dyspraxia can affect people for anyone who does not know much about learning difficulties.

Describe your blog in three words

Life with dyspraxia

Why did you start your blog?

At the time I started my blog, I had gotten more involved in Dyspraxia related groups, (mainly going to Dyspraxia foundation meetings), and I found it mostly parents of young children asking for advice, and a lot of people wanted me to talk to them about how I felt growing up with it. I was far too shy to talk much about my experiences, so couldn't offer much advice, and that's when I thought of how useful writing down my thoughts and experiences in a blog may be to some people. As well as that, sharing my own experiences could encourage others to do the same, putting out more information about dyspraxia and what it is.

How long have you been running it?

Seven Months

What makes it different from the rest?

As well as showing the challenges of growing up with dyspraxia, I try to show learning difficulties, like dyspraxia in a more positive light as well. I also try to highlight ways that other people with dyspraxia and parents can best work through challenges that may come up.

Who would be your dream guest blogger?

I would love to have Victoria Biggs, who wrote Caged in Chaos: A Dyspraxic Guide to Breaking Free, write a guest blog. I thought the book was really well written and helpful when I read it, and was really inspired by her writing style when I started my blog.

What was your last blog post about?

My last post was called "Learning to Drive" and it was about learning to drive with dyspraxia, which is pretty difficult when you can't always tell left from right.

What's been your "blog highlight"?

My post "I Can't Read Your Writing!" was probably my highlight, I think it was published on the night I got the most views I've ever had in a single day and it got a lot of responses from people who said they could relate to it, and sharing their own experiences, which is really the main aim of having the blog.
