Tesco and Poundworld have issued separate product recalls over safety fears.

The stores’ customers are being advised not to open the affected products and to return them to store immediately.

Tesco issued an urgent recall for a children’s toy over fears it could be hazardous.

One batch of the Wooden Alphabet Pull Along toy was found to include a cord which could become loose and frayed.

Only batch number 161101 is affected.

The retailer confirmed: “We have been made aware that the pull along cord on one batch code of this product may become frayed and unravel causing a potential hazard.”

Tesco has also recalled its 400g frozen ready made Spaghetti Bolognese after low levels of egg were not declared on packaging.

If you have have an allergy or intolerance to egg, the Food Standards Agency recommends you do not eat it.

Poundworld recalled its 300ml Auto Spray Grey Primer Paint over a potential safety problem.

Affected products have a product code F-20523, barcode 5050577205235 and batch number 137468.

Customers can return products to store for a refund.

Poundworld has apologised for the inconvenience.
