“Although I cant be sure and i cant be tested it seems likely i have Coronavirus,” he tweeted. “Started social distancing a few days too late. Anyone upsets me; I’ll be around to sneeze in your home (sic)”

The 49-year-old star, who used to be a doctor, said became concerned after he began feeling exhausted, which he said was a “new territory” for him.

He wrote: “Btw, as you can imagine I’ve had a lot of mates. medics or otherwise, in contact. It seems that loads of us may have had it in the last few weeks, but the range of symptoms is very variable.

“The suspicious symptom, for me, is the exhaustion. New territory. (sic)”

Paul added that he “cannot remember” the last time he saw someone who wasn’t his husband Olly.

The Chase star recently admitted he has “lost” his sense of fear since being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in May last year.

He told The Guardian: “The thing that has changed most since the diagnosis is that I’ve lost my fear.

“I’ve always been one of those comics who doesn’t say much on panel shows because I’m terrified of saying the wrong thing or offending the wrong person.

“But now, I’ve lost all that. I’ve got the exaggerated carpe diem that a lot of people get with their diagnosis.”
