Martine McCutcheon has revealed video footage of the moment her four-year-old son Rafferty found out that she was underneath the Swan costume on The Masked Singer.

On Saturday night, Martine became the third star to be eliminated from the latest series of the ITV singing show, after her Swan character landed in the bottom two against Sausage.

Many fans of the show were shocked to see Martine underneath the mask – and that includes her son, who clearly had no idea she had taken part.

After the episode aired, Martine posted a video clip of herself and Rafferty watching the moment she was unmasked, including the moment he was visibly stunned to see his mum on TV.

The video shows the two chanting “take it off!” along with the TV audience, after which a shocked Rafferty exclaims: “Woah! Mummy! Mummy! Mummy! What?! Oh my god!”

Martine told her Instagram followers: “I’ve never known an operation like it! I didn’t get to sing a big ballad but I DID get to be a showgirl again and also surprise Rafferty by being on one of his favourite ever shows!

“Bless him he was so proud and not being able to breathe and getting backache from the huge heavy wired swan sculpture was all worth it! I can’t believe I managed to keep it a secret!”
