'The Voice UK' bosses have been forced to deny the show is fixed, following Paloma Faith's bold claim about an agreement she apparently had with Ricky Wilson.
The 'Picking Up The Pieces' singer had previously revealed that she and the Kaiser Chiefs frontman had agreed they would swap contestant Kevin Simm during Saturday (5 March) Battle round episode.
Paloma was seen ditching the former Liberty X singer from her team in favour of Faith Nelson, before Ricky recruited him using his 'Steal'.
In an interview with The Mirror after the show aired, Paloma said: "Losing Kevin was the hardest battle round decision. I wasn’t sleeping because of it. So Ricky and I agreed beforehand that he would take Kevin.
Fans then accused the pair of "fixing" the show, and the BBC have now issued a statement to clarify that Paloma and Ricky's conversation was hypothetical.
"The conversation between Ricky and Paloma before that battle record was her asking him to steal Kevin if she didn't choose him. He did not agree or disagree," they told the Evening Standard.
Paloma has also addressed the controversy on Twitter, claiming that it was "normal" for the pair to have spoken this way.
"Saying 'I want to keep both people so make sure you steal this person is normal human nature and logic it's not a 'fix' haha… people are funny," she tweeted.
