‘The Voice UK’: Jason Jones Impressed All The Judges - But Who Did He Pick As His Coach?

Will the coaches be impressed?

‘The Voice’ got off to a flying start on Saturday (7 January) night, when the first act Jason Jones inspired all four coaches - will.i.am, Jennifer Hudson, Sir Tom Jones and Gavin Rossdale - to push their buzzers.

The call-centre worker left the panel and audience stunned with his impressive cover of Zayn Malik’s ‘Pillow Talk’, and was one of just two hopefuls to see all four chairs turn.

The coaches then had to try and impress him, and after their impassioned pitches, he chose will.i.am to help him through the rest of the competition.

The only other act to impress on that level was 21-year-old Mo, who closed the show.

ITV have made a number of tweaks to the show’s format, and there’s a brand new studio, to go with a brutal alteration to the blind auditions.

Back in the BBC days, the coaches would give feedback to every singer, regardless of who pushed their buzzer.

Now though, if nobody turns in their chair, the hopeful is left to walk away with zero comments.

Earlier this week, we caught up with will.i.am and co to discuss the new series, and it’s fair to say the former Black Eyed Peas star isn’t worried about any talk of a ratings battle with the BBC’s new show ‘Let It Shine’. See what he had to say in the video below…

‘The Voice UK’ airs on ITV1 at 8pm.
