Rock veterans The Who have been announced as headliners for the Isle Of Wight Festival.
Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend have been added to the bill of the first major festival of the summer.
The event, which coincides with the Queen’s 90th birthday, has a Best Of British theme, with acts including Queen featuring Adam Lambert, Stereophonics and Faithless.
Also announced as special guest is Richard Ashcroft, who will perform tracks from his forthcoming fourth solo album, These People.
The Who, famous for their songs Baba O'Reilly, Pinball Wizard, Who Are You and My Generation, will be bringing their Hits 50! tour to the island for their only UK festival performance of 2016 in the Saturday night headline slot.
The band first played the Isle of Wight Festival in 1969 and 1970 and then again in 2004 - the same year that David Bowie also headlined, his last ever UK live performance.
Festival organiser John Giddings said: "The Who are part of the fabric of the Isle of Wight Festival, and it’s great to welcome them back to the island as part of their ongoing 50th anniversary celebrations.
"We’re proud to have a line up of home-grown headliners to help celebrate our own 15th anniversary and ensure that this year delivers yet another unforgettable weekend of music."
The Isle of Wight Festival, which has seen headliners including the Foo Fighters, The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, The Killers, Coldplay, Blur and Fleetwood Mac, will take place at Seaclose Park in Newport from June 9 to 12.
