The X Factor 2013 Semi Final

Christmas is just around the corner and so too is the X Factor Final. But first, as the tension grows, (in my best Peter Dickson voice) it's the Semi Final.

Good luck to Tamera Foster who left us last week. Sad to see here go but I am 100% positive that she is going to be a huge star. Can't wait for the album.

As last week, each act is doing two songs. This week the theme is Elton John vs Beyonce.

Luke Friend survived another sing off last week and bounced back, as if nothing had happened. It was a bit boy bandish but it was energetic and great to watch. I wasn't keen on Luke's second song and the results show could be very nervy for Mr Friend.

The once reliable Nicholas McDonald seems to be struggling with nerves, last week was the first time he had shown some vulnerability and his version of 'Halo' was at times shouty and pitchy. But, desperately needing a good second song, Nicholas really pulled it out the bag, the sign of a star. Vocally, very impressive and back to his best, just at the right time.

The world class Sam Bailey showed everyone how it's done with an exceptional first performance, pitch perfect and effortless. This lady is set for a very big 2014 and beyond. Taking on a classic song like 'Candle In The Wind' would put fear in to even the most experienced singers...not Sam Bailey though. Consistent, reliable, brilliant. I could go on. See you in the Final Sam.

Singing 'Survivor', Rough Copy were back to the group that I have grown to love. I love their energy and vibe and the Final would be poorer place without them. Last group standing had no need to be 'Sorry' with their second song, a very good weekend for the lads at just the right time. If there is any justice RC deserve to be in the Final.

The bottom two were Rough Copy & Luke Friend

The Ninth act to leave was Rough Copy on the public vote.
