This Morning Viewers Keep Phoning MP Tracy Brabin During Chaotic Interview After Her Mobile Number Is Displayed On Screen

Oh dear.

Labour MP Tracy Brabin is being forced to change her mobile phone number after it was mistakenly transmitted to the entire country during Friday’s This Morning.

The actress-turned-politician was on the show via a live video link up with hosts Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes to discuss the coronavirus pandemic when her mobile number appeared at the top of the screen.

It didn’t take long for some viewers to start calling the MP leading to the interview being constantly interrupted.

Tracy initially thought it was signal issues as a bemused Ruth and Eamonn attempted to keep the interview on track.

A spokesperson for This Morning has since apologised for the blunder, saying: ’Viewers may have seen a number on-screen during an interview with Tracy Brabin this morning which was a technical error and we have apologised to Tracy for this error.”

Eamonn also read a statement on air apologising to Tracy.

“Just a quick word about something from earlier in today’s programme,’ he began. “In our interview with MP Tracy Brabin, some viewers – if they looked very closely – may have seen a number on screen. This was a technical error and we want to say sorry to Tracy for any nuisance and trouble this may have caused.”

Following her appearance, Tracy urged people to text her as she had been inundated with calls. She also revealed she would be changing her number.

“Just done @thismorning and my phone number was posted on-screen,” she tweeted. “And I’ve been inundated so will have to change my number. Please TEXT.’

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
