Jimmy Kimmel may have been in charge of proceedings at this year’s Oscars, but the viewing public were all in agreement that when it came to presenting, Tiffany Haddish and Maya Rudolph were the real stars of the show.
The two actors were tasked with presenting two categories at the Academy Awards last month, where their razor sharp one-liners and impeccable comedic timing soon had fans calling for them to host the whole event.
Speaking at the premiere of her latest film, ‘The Last O.G.’, Tiffany has now said she’d be more than willing to host - but she won’t be doing it for free.
“At the end of the day, I would love to do something like that,” sue said (via Page Six). ”That would be a dream come true.
“I know my father would be extremely proud if I got to do that. As long as I get a paycheck.”
We hope the Academy have got their cheque books ready, because this needs to happen.
Tiffany also revealed that she was under the impression she’d be receiving some cash for presenting at this year’s ceremony. Unfortunately, guest presenters never get paid.
“In my mind, Maya and I, we auditioned for the ultimate job because I thought we was getting paid for that presentation,” she explained. “And then I found out we didn’t get paid, then I was like, ‘I heard about gift bags’.
“And then they were like, ‘We don’t got no gift bags,’ And then I was like ‘Well what do I get?’ and they [said], ‘We got a bottle of wine that’s like $13.’ So I had to buy the wine.”
To be honest, we’re impressed there was a bottle of wine that cheap.
The Academy are yet to announced who will present the 2019 Oscars, but early favourites are already emerging with regards to potential winners.
Following the huge commercial success and rave reviews of ‘Black Panther’, many have speculated over whether the Ryan Coogler-directed movie will receive any nods.
Despite the fact it hasn’t even been released yet, ‘La La Land’ director Damien Chazelle’s latest effort, ‘First Man’, is also being tipped for success.
The film sees him reunite with Ryan Gosling, who plays astronaut Neil Armstrong, telling the “riveting true story of NASA’s mission to land a man on the moon”.
Best Actress 2018 nominees Saiorse Ronan and Margot Robbie are also teaming up for a new historical biopic, which could also be set to clean up.
