So, let's have a look at the hottest shows in town shall we? Here are this week's Top Five Emerging Icons Live...

Thursday 15th August

It's a busy week for singer-songwriter Ollie Sloan. The London lad takes his flippin gorgeous folk-pop tunes to The Bedford first- just a few weeks after joining their line-up at this year's London FolkFest. Following that appearance we're very pleased to announce that he'll be joining us on our Westfield stage for our super-chilled Sunday musical feast- and what a tasty addition he is too. He's got a ridiculously good voice. With its stunning tone and natural character, there's a definite Paolo Nutini vibe going on with a sound that's got the power to stop world conflict and make grown men cry. Powerful stuff. Let's hope he uses those lungs of his responsibly...

Thursday 15th August

Hot tip Neotropics are heading to Bath tonight for a date at the city's musical Mecca, Moles. Joining sexy synth geniuses ECSTASY for a night of neverending eargasms, the Emerging Icons favourites are poised to make a fair few gains in the ole fan department at this particular show, we reckon. Latest single 'Reflections' reaffirmed the strength of the sound we've come to love in the months since discovering the Bristol-based trio, and this crowd are gonna lose their shit when they hear it. The hazily floating atmospheric electronica is given a kick up the arse by their heavier influences- taking the hardcore hybrids of synth-muddled rock in a completely different direction. Check out what we had to say about the new single and watch their video here... you'll defo be getting a ticket after that.

Friday 16th August

With tunes described by The Fly as "Windswept, bellow-it-from-a-hilltop indie", Lonesound joins our Westfield Presents bill on our Shepherd's Bush stage. The solo project of former My Luminaries frontman James Ewers, you can get yourself settled down for some belting, feel-good melodies in this set. Now with three EPs worth of tunes, Lonesound's had support from all kinds of influential folk from Dermot O'Leary at BBC Radio 2 to John Kennedy at Xfm. It's no wonder he's managed such broad appeal... his music can go from sounding like a dance-friendly explosion á la Two Door Cinema Club one moment to Keane-style indie pop the next. Whatever you draw in this lucky dip, you're sure to love it... so make sure you're there to see him.

Friday 16th August

The Mourning Suns at The Islington: Islington, London

Brum's finest psychedelic folk peddlers are mooching down to the capital to treat London's new music fans to their class tunes. Vibrantly poetic lyrics meet dark, brooding instrumentals in what will be an absolutely stunning set live. We've touted the quartet as ones to watch ever since we found them catching the eye of Glastonbury's Emerging Talent Competition this year; their prowess for live performance being just too good to resist. Its serious stuff- more like theatre than your average gig- but it will truly transport you to another time, place... possibly even dimension. One reviewer noted "something dark and tribal about the whole experience. The dim lights, the smoke, Rosie's wild shaman dance..." if that's not got your attention we don't know what will. Try and make it down.

Sunday 18th August

A cracking Sunday line-up on our Westfield stage sees the arrival of Ollie Sloan, an exclusive stripped back set from those Wigan-borne wonders Signal Aurora, and this splendid lot- Scott James & The Revolution. The eponymous rapper and vocalist Scott and his Gloucestershire massive smash together sounds from many musical worlds- from the gritty fast-spitting hip-hop lyrics to the funk of the riffing and acoustic grassroots guitar sound incredible when performed live. We like to give exposure to the acts who dare to be different... and this is definitely one of them. This is a talented group with a really fresh sound- and they're sure to impress when they hit Westfield London that afternoon.

If you can't make it down to any of these shows, don't panic! There are plenty more just waiting to be discovered. All you have to do is click on the GIGS tab at the top of the Emerging Icons homepage where you can find listings from loads more amazing artists!
