Two people will appear in court after a baby was shot in the head with an air-gun.
One-year-old Harry Studley is critically ill in hospital after suffering a serious head injury on Friday evening in Bristol.
Detectives said Jordan Walters, 24, and Emma Jane Horseman, 23, of Bishport Avenue, have been charged with causing grievous bodily harm and will appear at Bristol Magistrates' Court.
A police spokesman said: "Harry Studley remains in a critical condition in Bristol Children's Hospital with a serious head injury after being shot by a pellet discharged from an air weapon.
"We've now charged two people in relation to the incident.
"They have been remanded in custody ahead of their appearance before magistrates."
Emergency crews were called to a flat in Bishport Avenue, Hartcliffe, at 4.10pm on Friday, with neighbours reportedly saying they heard the child "screaming and screaming".
Police said the boy's family were continuing to be given "all the help and support they need".
Officers have also thanked the local community for their patience and understanding while extensive inquiries have been carried out.
