The Pret A Manger boss revealed this week that his staff can give away free coffee to whoever they like the look of. However, it's clearly all a ploy! A ploy to get his staff dates!
He told the Standard: "The staff have to give away a certain number of hot drinks and food every week.They will decide 'I like the person on the bicycle' or 'I like the guy in that tie' or 'I fancy that girl or that boy'."
Yes, this modern day cupid is giving his staff all the means to bag themselves a date. Surely a staff member in love is a happier staff member? And what a way to get a date: who needs mobile dating apps if you can give away free coffee?! What could be a left swipe on Tinder could surely be swayed by a free cup of that bean roasted goodness. We all need caffeine (okay we all feel like we need it) and we all like getting things for free and together 'free caffeine' becomes the perfect chat up line. No longer do you need to struggle with which comedic opening line to use on that smokin' fella, all Pret staff need to do is present them with a free drink.
Applications to work at Pret A Manger will surely increase in the coming weeks, so if you are looking for love better get your application in early. Either that or bring a flask of coffee and cups with you everywhere you go. Yes, be prepared! Your true love could be waiting for a caffeine injection around the next corner!
