Wine of the Week: a Pink Champagne for St Valentine's Day

Oeil de Perdrix. Rosé Champagne

Made for Majestic Wines UK by the excellent Champagne house of Devaux, 'Oeil de Perdrix' refers to the delicate 'partridge eye' colour of this wine. It is made from 100% Pinot Noir, grown in the cool vineyards of Champagne in nothern France, which gives it truly delicate aromas of redcurrant and raspberry, a touch of briar, and a delicate palate too which is light, fresh and easy to drink. With its crisp, dry, subtle red fruit flavours it is delicious aperitif stuff, and a perfect St Valentine's Day treat, though its crips acidity and freshness means it would also match well with fish and seafood.

Normally £24.99 in Majestic, the single bottle price is reduced to £19.99 until 15th February 2016. But note also that every Majestic store in the UK will have it open for your to try before you buy if you pop along for a bottle before the 15th.
