Tory mayoral candidate Zac Goldsmith was left floundering when quizzed on London trivia by the BBC.
The Richmond Park MP, who is hoping to succeed Boris Johnson as London Mayor on May 5, came unstuck when asked which team played its football at Loftus Road.
He also bombed when quizzed on which tube station comes after Tottenham Court Road when travelling east on the Central Line.
The answers are of course Queens Park Rangers and Holborn.
Goldsmith's failure to remember where QPR play is made even more embarrassing by the fact that he met the club's players at a training session in December last year.
The mayoral candidate visited a QPR in the Community Trust training session, and even talked about how the club "needs a new home".
"100 per cent, it's got to stay in West London," he said when asked about a potential move away from Loftus Road.
However, Goldsmith did remember that ‘Dirty’ Den Watts was the first landlord of the Queen Vic in the BBC soap EastEnders.
Goldsmith managed to get answer just one out of the four questions correctly, whereas his Labour rival Sadiq Khan scored three out of four in the quiz the day before.
The Tory MP's ignorance of London trivia was mocked on Twitter.
Goldsmith was taking part in a Cab Share feature on BBC’s Victoria Derbyshire show, in which for some reason the corporation’s assistant political editor Norman Smith drives a black cab.
On yesterday’s edition, Labour’s candidate Sadiq Khan correctly answered that Crystal Palace play at Selhurst Park.
He also remembered that Embankment is the next stop on the Northern Line when travelling south from Charing Cross.
However, Khan failed to remember that The British Museum is London’s oldest museum.
An opinion poll released by the Evening Standard yesterday showed Khan is eight points ahead of his Tory rival in the race to become the next London Mayor.
