Barely old enough to buy a shandy, but Purple Mafia have the towering confidence to take the States by storm. With their cheeky grins and easy charm, these boys have that sparkle for the limelight. What started off "as a bit of a joke" emailing Record Labels in the states, Josh Stockdale: Guitars, Dan Reynard: Lead Vocal, Tom Stringer: Bass, Harry Yates: Guitar and Alex Boulton: Drums are about to embark on every young musicians Hollywood dream. These young performers have every bit of charisma and style boys their age can possess to keep them as teenage pin-ups well into their early twenties.

They started playing and writing music together at the ages of eleven and twelve when they met at Ripon Grammar School. Since founding the band the guys have gone on to play on the Main Stage at The Culture Shock Festival, reached the Northern Finals of Live and Unsigned, and were winners of The Amp Award 2012. On the 23rd of August 2012 these Northern lads will be getting their dream shot and traveling to Hollywood to record at Unison Music Studios with Bruce Witkin and Ryan Dorn .

Unison Music Group is an Independent, Los Angeles based music label with an eclectic roster of original talent including Babybird, The White Buffalo and Baron Sisters to name a few.

Producer Bruce Witkin has a lifetime of experience as an artist and producer. He has recorded and toured with Adam Ant and Vanessa Paradis and has recorded countless artists including The Romantics, Joe Perry, The Blasters, LA Guns and many more. Bruce wrote and produced music for Martin Short's "Jiminy Glick" and served as Johnny Depp's Vocal Producer in Tim Burton's "Sweeney Todd," for which he received a Grammy® nomination in 2008.

Ryan Dorn is well known for his prodigious talent and experience in all phases of the studio environment. He has produced and recorded a myriad of artists including Whitney Houston, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Faster Pussycat, Cher, Adam Ant, Motorhead and many more.

Inbetween working on tracks for their album with Bruce and Ryan, Purple Mafia will be performing Live at the Whisky Go Go on Sunday, 26 August 10:00 pm. By performing at Whisky Go Go the band will be following in the footsteps of legends such as Janis Joplin, Led Zeplin and The Doors. If there is a new up and coming band in Hollywood Whisky Go Go is the place to find them. With their boyish good looks and heavy Yorkshire accents every girl in the venue will be yearning for them.

In England Purple Mafia have the ability to excite their fans with sell out crowds with THOUSANDS of pop fans in a way that would make the Rock n Roll Legends proud. They milk the crowd with pure showmanship and always have the audience shouting for more. What is reassuring, about Purple Mafia is their lack of choreographed polish. They won't be adorned in matching outfits, and make no attempt to bend or sashay or impress with fancy footwork ... instead they impress with their music alone.

There is only on place every young female should be in Hollywood on the 26th August and that's Whisky Go Go.
