For years musicians have tried to use their tunes as a 'call to arms', a 'rally for the masses' or a 'resonant protest' - seriously. That's just a handful of clichés that seem to litter press releases all over the land. But do many of them actually achieve anything?
Your Sex Pistols and your Joe Strummers got things right, but these days it can be hard to come by a tune to entertain your brain as well as the temptation to dance. Thankfully, we've tracked down one such tune and stuck it onto our album, 'Emerging Icons In The Park'.
Bibelots may not do things the same way as the punk lot did, but they still know how to make an entrance with their sound. They have an inclination to flirt with the idea of sleazy rock n' roll, but their loyalties lie very much with beats for your feet(s). 'The Revolution Will Be Digitised' is a big, beefy bastard of a track that swaggers in with plenty to say - and perhaps helping us wake up to some pretty nasty truths in our existence.

We spoke to Bibelot's Neil to find out exactly what they wanted to do with this track...
-What was the inspiration behind the track and what is the song about?
'The Revolution Will Be Digitised' is about apathy and the feeling of being powerless resulting in a lack of any real urge for revolution - so we settle for a compromise; a 'digital revolution'
-Where and when did you write this song?
I (Neil) wrote it early 2011 - the title's a play-on-words inspired by Gill Scott-Heron's 'The Revolution Will Not Be Televised'. I had the idea/chorus floating around for a while but when he passed away I knew I had to finish it.
-Who recorded the track for you- if a producer who else have they worked with?
We recorded the track at Magic Garden Studios in Wolverhampton with Gavin Monaghan (Spiritualised, Ocean Colour Scene, Editors)
-How do fans react to the track when you play it live?
Like most of our live set, this one's also a good sing-along song so fans usually have a good sing-along and a jump around to it. It's quite a good one for crowd surfing with the fairly chilled verses into the big choruses.
-What comes to mind when you hear the song played back?
This is the song that we played on our first live TV appearance on ESPN's Talk of the Terrace, so it always reminds me of this. It was very nerve-racking with all the TV cameras and live audience but thoroughly enjoyable. We pulled it off too, as it sounds pretty good for live!
-What does your song bring to the Emerging Icons album?
Our music has been described as 'Dirty Blues & Electronic Rock & Roll' - so the song brings some of that to the album.
