Aldeburgh Food Festival

The festival is celebrating its 10th birthday this year and without it, I am convinced we wouldn't have the sheer number of quality food producers that amazed me when I first moved to Suffolk and continues to wow me today.
Of all of the dishes he cooked at the festival this was the one I wanted to taste the most, but I turned my back for a minute and it miraculously vanished into thin air. Or someone's tummy. So I asked Mike for the recipe. He made it with his award-winning pickled quails' eggs but you can give fresh eggs a gentle boil instead.
The highlight of the Suffolk foodie calendar for me is the annual Aldeburgh Food and Drink Festival at Snape Maltings. It's a non-profit making event designed to showcase the many excellent food and drink producers we have in this part of the world and it's how I've met many of the people who've featured on these pages and whose food I have cooked and eaten.
