With the exception of Christmas, general elections and Eurovision, summer holidays are the most wonderful time of the year. And as is usually the case, there's nothing that underlines the "we are having a good time" vibe better than television. At one point, summer morning television was a big deal. But now, nobody seems arsed.
For John Bercow, it will be an uncomfortable and embarrassing time. He'll be grateful that Parliament is in recess as that will provide some respite
Of late Sally Bercow has been attempting a backwards Lembit Opik: whilst the path from politician to media personality is a well-trodden one, it seems harder to perform the reverse.

Another day, another press release announcing a new series heading to Sky Atlantic. Last month the channel announced they were taking cult favourite Nurse Jackie off BBC Four's hands. It's the latest in a longish list of acquisitions from other channels, Sky's wallet proving too big for the rest of the UK terrestrial broadcasters to compete with. And I say let Sky have them.
About Big Brother
Big Brother' has been one of the UK's biggest reality shows ever since its initial series in 2000. Although a load of contestants sitting around a house together arguing and flirting might not sound like the most entertaining thing in the world, 'Big Brother' has provided some of the most iconic and memorable TV moments of the 21st century. Who could forget Nadia Almada's emotional big win, Pete Bennett and Nikki Grahame's ill-fated romance or the infamous 'fight night'? In recent years, the show has moved to Channel 5, where it is presented by Emma Willis, while Rylan Clark-Neal hosts spin-off show 'Big Brother's Bit On The Side'. Admittedly, it's less popular than it was in its glory days, but that doesn't stop the show's loyal fans tuning in. Helen Wood was crowned champion in 2014, in one of the most shocking and controversial 'BB' moments ever, while last year's series was won by Jason Burrill. 2017 sees producers on the hunt for pairs to take part as housemates. 2016 saw the show being relaunched with two houses, following the news producers have been granted permission to extend the compound, which is based in Elstree, Borehamwood. A 'Celebrity' series also airs twice a year on Channel 5, and it has now become more popular than the regular civilian run.
