good vibes only

As we look back at the year in entertainment, we hand out our awards for everything from Funniest TV Fail to The Can’t Be Unseen award. Featuring Iris from This Morning, Alison Hammond, Gemma Collins, Beverley Callard and Andrew Lloyd Webber.
This week in entertainment we get all festive, as the Christmas specials roll out and the battle for Christmas number one heats up. Will Mariah Carey finally get a Christmas number one or will Justin Bieber’s collaboration with NHS choir pip her to the post? We also take a look at the Christmas films being released and Ash gives his prediction for Eastenders’ Christmas shock.
Nigella Lawson gave us a new way to say “microwave” this week, Lifetime’s Colonel Sanders movie raised the bar on cinema, Jordan North gets used to life not inside the I’m A Celeb castle and The Vicar of Dibley returns for three mini Christmas specials.
I’m A Celeb 2020 comes to an end, a Bake Off star proposes on TV, Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary take over This Morning, The Masked singer reveal their new costumes for series two, Dua Lipa and Kylie unite for an amazing disco livestream and Courtneney Cox dons a Thanksgiving turkey once again.
This week, the Grammy nominations were announced, Beverley Callard is quickly becoming a national treasure, The Mandalorian had their “coffee cup” moment and we have a Bake Off winner.
The stars of the I’m A Celebrity castle are not disappointing, the cast of The Crown’s fourth series bundled together on set to watch Naked Attraction. Harry Styles’ caused controversy (for some reason) by donning a dress on the US cover of Vogue, Holly and Phil cracked up at some dirty vegetables and the Bake Off finale looms after Hermine’ controversial exit.
With a brand new series of I’m A Celebrity just round the corner, we take a look at what to expect from this year’s crop of castle stars. There’s also a tantalising preview of The Crown’s long-awaited fourth season. Plus find out why Lizzo and John Legend had us howling in the wake of the US election result, and why David Beckham’s choice of footwear has been causing a stir.
The excitement of Kylie's Disco helped us through a week dominated by lockdown and the US election. And even in the serious news coverage, there were laughs to be had thanks to an unfortunate live TV blunder.
As Strictly Come Dancing’s live shows kicked off, there was one contestant who we could not stop talking about, while there’s also been a lot of chatter about the upcoming series of I’m A Celebrity – just who will enter the castle? There was also new music from Ariana Grande, Little Mix, Steps… but not quite yet from Adele. Meanwhile, This Morning and Family Fortunes also got us giggling with some very unfamily-friendly faux-pas.
Strictly Come Dancing is finally back to bring some sparkle into our lives, but it wasn’t the only thing that brought us joy this week. There was an exciting RuPaul’s Drag Race UK announcement and Gemma Collins was up to her usual (ridiculous) tricks. Elsewhere in this week’s GVO, there’s also a chance for you to own the Big Breakfast house (if you have a spare £5.7m), and find out why BBC iPlayer’s Love Life is the perfect show to binge right now.
