Graduate Fashion Week

Even if you can't make it to Graduate Fashion Week, if you're a fan of fashion outside of the capital why not go out and support your local shows? I was lucky enough to see some of Northumbria's graduate exhibition this year in the Baltic Mill, and there were a variety of spectacular pieces on display.
I always say that my favourite thing about my job is its diversity, and in the last couple of months I've been on so many adventures and discovered so many cool things that I don't even know how to fill you in on it all! But I will, of course, 'cause that's kinda the point of this post.

I have always been amazed at the graduates across the UK who, generation after generation, continually wow us with their fresh ideas, creativity and mind-blowing talent... The difficulties young people face finding jobs after graduating is phenomenal with nearly 40% of students struggling for six months to find employment. It is important that we do all we can to nurture and celebrate their skills.
Graduate Fashion Week is one of my favorite events of the year and this year's event was no different. Graduate Fashion Week continues to be the place for students to show their creativity and for fashion brands and retailers to identify their future design talent.
I was lucky enough to attend the Edinburgh College of Art catwalk show on Sunday where 17 graduating students showed off a culmination of three years of very hard-work. As an alumnus of the college it is an event I look forward to every year.
What we need to tackle now is making the infrastructure and cultural change that will make growth and long-term development easier and more achievable for start-ups and micro businesses.
