After statements from the cast members Ryan Gosling, Margot Robbie, Helen Mirren and America Ferrera, the director herself has chimed in at last.

The La La Land star admitted he "heavily edited" his initial statement in support of colleagues Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie.
"There's no way to feel sad when you know you're this blessed," the Australian actor said.
The Barbie star is clearly not letting the fact she missed out on a Best Actress nomination get her down.
"Not everybody gets a prize..."
The former secretary of state ended her post about Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig with a truly bizarre hashtag.
