Stratford Centre in Newham, London has become a homeless shelter in recent months as the rates of homeless rise across the city. One local group entire funded by donations is Hope for Newham, they have gone from providing meals every Tuesday night to 35 people to now feeding over 130 each Tuesday.
Homelessness in the UK has reached a record high while there are more than 227,000 empty homes around the country. Community groups like Canopy Housing, in Leeds are bringing empty homes back into use for people in housing need.
Our children are the ones who will either effectively tackle, or effectively ignore the homeless crisis in the future.
