It's Blue Monday, a name given to a day in January (typically the third Monday of the month) reported to be the most depressing day of the year and the worst month for suicides.
Be grateful for what you have. Yes, it's only natural to want more from life, but consider the basics. You are happy and healthy, you have a roof over your head, food on your plate and you are surrounded by love. Not everyone is quite as lucky. Find the joy in little things.
There are so many people who don't understand, like 12 year old me, and don't know the extent of the problems that engineers solve. These people could be our future engineers, our future workforce and our future students inspired to study maths and science at A Level.
It truly does seem as if the institution has lost sight of its original intentions and that it has become more political and less savoury. The Presidency should not just be about policy, but policy change. It should not just be about carrying on prior or personal agendas, but it should be about pioneering and gearing up the next generation. The aim should be positive, innovative and inspiring.
As my confidence grew, so did my skills and my voice become stronger. I became less afraid to publish my words and more immersed in the community. People who I first met online, became proper friends whom I would speak to everyday. The proof of the power of blogging at it's finest.

So whatever keeps you going share that with those less fortunate and with less depth in their own personal bottle of drive and inspiration. We all need a little help from time to time. One of my daughters has also recently told me I am her inspiration, a share that made my year and certainly gave my drive and inspiration banks a boost!
