Radio station LBC was bombarded by questions from listeners asking when the country will go to the polls.
Sir Davd Lidington's comments drew criticism on social media.

"Why is it such a gloomy economic picture with the Tories?" The LBC presenter asked.
"I'm actually going to effectively put the phone down," host Nick Ferrari said in frustration.

The immigration minister repeatedly refused to name a lawyer he claimed was working with Keir Starmer to block migrant deportations.
