long-distance friendship

That friendship doesn't change as time passes. When you are reunited, they don't ask you indirectly - who are you now? - by endless questioning about what you do and the logistics of your life. Those friends look into your eyes and know immediately of all your adventures through the happiness they find there.
Traveling is exciting but not when it's forced upon you. Slowly things began to change, in trickles at first and suddenly a large proportion of my peers had moved abroad, some to the UK others Canada, Australia and it seems everywhere in between.
I have had some real friendship tests recently. In Paris you meet many expats who then go back home. Perhaps I am calling into my life these wandering minstrels to teach me to deal with change or I am attracted to foreign cultures. Either way it has been a learning curve.
