Love Matters

Moving forward is hard and sometimes the abuse will come back in dreams, flashbacks, conversations or in other ways. I find that sometimes it feels like I am in a mental fight not to assume my husband is similar to the person who abused me. Years on and the moments have become less and I am able to shake it off but this has taken patience and has at times been mentally quite tough.
I am a stay-at-home mother. I have no political might to change the world. I don't know how to change the world (if we are honest, there is no straightforward, easy answer). All I know is that we can evolve the world into a kinder place, one family at a time.
This week is Parkinson's Awareness week and I will be blogging about my experience as the partner of a person with Parkinson's. My fiancé Ryan was diagnosed in 2015 at 36 with Early Onset Parkinson's Disease.
Embrace your differences and your unique history because only by doing so, can we overcome a world of hate. Be proud of who you are. We have to love ourselves first before we can love each other.
I don't remember the actual moment when we made the decision to marry but it was because of what we learnt from the loss of two such important people from our lives that we suddenly felt that it was important to us and important that we didn't waste time waiting.
There are plenty of types of breakups, probably just as many as people in this world. There are breakups in which you are coming out of a long relationship, which leads to an also long and some times tedious breakup period.
Many people are justifiably cynical of Valentine's Day and regard it as a marketing ploy by retailers to shift stocks of over-priced cards, chocolates and flowers. And let's not forget those who would dearly love to shower their special someone with gifts or treats but have no spare money for extra presents.
At the end, no one wants to get hurt again. Or no one wants to invest their time in romancing and find that only a few months down the line 'not to be chosen'. Rejection hurts. Bad relationships hurt as well.
