It seems that the millennial generation has become not only social media generation but also the generation of viral online nominating. The hashtag, bold typed nominations are not an unusual sight anymore on Facebook and Twitter as it takes the place of the nineties babies' chain letter.
I was recently neknominated by a friend. For those of you who have been living on a desert island (that has no internet access) for the past couple of months, Neknominate is an internet-spread drinking game whereby the nominated drinks a pint of alcohol (often beer) and then passes on the nomination to someone else via social media...
Why are we so worried about this trend? Firstly, the use of social media allows peer pressure to escape the security of a university campus where, in many cases, support can be found for students felt pressured or uneasy whilst on campus.
