nepal earthquake aid

I have been left saddened by the scale of destruction and the impact the damage has had on children in particular, but also pleased to see the good progress the aid effort is making only three months on from the earthquake.
A few days ago in an earthquake survivor's camp, I met Shreya, who is eight months' pregnant. She told me that the earthquake shook her so hard that her baby moved into the wrong position. Thankfully her baby has moved back now, but she worries that there will be complications when she gives birth.
"Amidst all the goodwill, inflow of material help, personnel, and pledges for the future, it struck me that the only country to have given *cash* to the Nepal Government so far is Bhutan. Its PM personally brought a check of $1 million. Then the ADB gave $3 million yesterday. From the noise in the social media, you might believe otherwise."
