I'm a strong believer in the concept of 'Learning by Doing'; the idea that "studying entrepreneurship without doing it is like studying the appreciation of music without listening to it", as Seth Godin so neatly summed it up.
Many of the people who ask my initial question clearly believe there is, but - while it shouldn't come as a surprise that as a young entrepreneur I'll be fighting the corner of the youth view - for me, dismissing the ambitions and prospects of a budding entrepreneur purely because of their age or corporate experience is at best, shortsighted, and at worst, a view rooted in envy.
January is generally a time for resolutions and change. Most of us have the opportunity to think and reflect on the year gone by and make plans for the year ahead. Many of us start with good intentions but I wonder how many of us actually stick with our resolutions?
