The truth is, even when we nail the art of non-drinking, the ground beneath us is never guaranteed to be steady. People still leave us in various ways. The shifting components of our life we have no control over still keep moving, at whatever pace they choose to.
I got my other wishes. Today I dressed myself. Fed myself. Left my flat and walked. I never take those things for granted. They will remain a privilege, rather then a right, for the rest of my life. Not because I believe they will go away. But because they are part of a long list of things I am overwhelmingly thankful for every day.
Yoga is not about money. It never can be, which is why it is wonderful that everyone and their dog is now a yoga teacher. A world full of yoga teachers is a world of conscious conscientious people who are actively trying to make the world a better place.
Change how you feel about yourself with the practical task of revamping your wardrobe. Begin to live in the present moment, really think about the contents of your wardrobe.
Don't let anyone laugh at your dreams. Or let them tell you they can't become a reality. Sick or well. People used to laugh at me all the time, which is fine, some of my dreams seemed fairly ridiculous.
I recovered from alcoholism when I was able to stop drinking. Finally. I recovered from being disabled when I was able to maintain walking again. Consistently. I recovered from the years of isolation when I was able to live back in the world again. Joyfully. So many recoveries.
