Open letter

Please don't lunge at me the Christmas office party, I don't care that you're wife is having an affair with the post man or that you can afford to take me to a fancy hotel, I will have play no part in your latest mid-life crisis. Put down the whisky and take your receding hair-lined face home.
So instead of spending our time hating these organisations we should be using it to try and help them. Grow, develop and move forward in to modern world. Because one day, at some point in your life you may just need that very charity that you once tweeted abuse to from something you read online; because you didn't understand what they did.
Dear Friend, I'm sorry to have to tell you this but mum has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. I'm sorry to tell you in such a blunt way, but there really is no other way to say it, and as I've had to tell so many people, I've got used to just saying it, now.
Long story short, my life has been pretty much mapped out up until now. And in some ways it's liberating to not know what's coming next. But it's also completely terrifying. So can anyone provide me with some reassurance or advice or anything really? Am I alone in feeling like this? Will things work out? What do I do next?
I am not going to tell you what to do, how to grieve. I cannot do those things, because while we may share a similar experience in common our individual journeys are so very personal. I felt so alone after my son died, and I hope this letter offers even a tiny bit of comfort to you.
You were lucky enough to have many things handed to you on a plate David. You do not know the struggle of trying to find where you fit in or feeling like a misfit in a society where you 'should' know where you want to be in 5 years time. Please think about the choices you are making.
We've had war-mongering Blair, pro banker Brown and fair but bland Miliband, Labour members deserve better. We need a party to be proud of. Jeremy is popular and will gain votes. As leader he'd re-claim our roots and rekindle Socialist values; values that are as important today, with inequality endemic, as they ever have been.
I know that you are only a human being just like I am and I hope that my words might reach you and make a difference. A huge part of your focus is on money and the economy and I understand how important this is, the recession was devastating. However, there is something much more important than money and that is human suffering...
I am genuinely interested to know if you are proud of your work with Virgin Money Giving? Do you think it is worthy of the third sector it seeks to lead and of your Virgin brand? Do you think you have done your job properly?
I was once torn apart by nightmares that would haunt me night after night. Waking up from those was like losing you all over again. But, in the past year I have started to dream about you - beautiful you. Now there are times when I wake up and I feel like you have been right there beside me.
