Oscar

Richard E Grant is really making the most of the awards season on his way to the Oscars, taking selfies with every other star he could get. Grant was brought to tears last week when he got a response to a fan letter he sent to Barbara Streisand when he was a boy in the seventies.
The 2019 Oscar nominations have been announced, with “The Favourite” and “Roma” leading the race. Richard E. Grant has been nominated for the first time, for best supporting actor and Netflix has their first ever nomination for best picture, with “Roma”.
Comedian Kevin Hart has chosen to step down as Oscars host after being given an ultimatum by the Academy: keep the gig but apologise for homophobic tweets he posted over seven years ago. Hart refused, explaining his choice in an Instagram post.
"I sincerely apologize to the LGBTQ community for my insensitive words from my past.'
The category was met with criticism from fans and the film industry.

'We appreciate the decision to keep the focus on the show and on the great work of this year.'
'Well in excess of the required two-thirds majority' backed the decision.
