over-eating

"Food is very personal and can be someone's drug of choice."
It is never just the foods you choose and the quantity you eat nor the regularity with which you move your body that impact on your weight. Emotional and physical stress can also tip the balance of the nervous system and subsequently the scales. But it's not always about weight gain, stress can also be a catalyst for people to lose weight - or change their eating habits.

Christmas is coming and it's not just the goose who's getting fat. Many people will also be piling on a few extra pounds over the holiday period. So how can we use what's known about the brain to put less in our stomachs this year?
Nibbling on a square of chocolate earlier in the day could stop you overeating later on, according to a new health study
Years ago, I worked for a charity that was linked to a major chocolate manufacturer. One of the perks of the job was a staff shop, where chocolate was available at a considerable discount. I learnt very quickly that it was a very bad idea for me to go to the shop, because I didn't save money, I just bought more chocolate. And I ate it.
