Ursula von der Leyen has said she would grant another extension to the Brexit deadline if Britain needed it to assure an orderly withdrawal from the bloc. She made the announcement as she set out her vision as European Commission president to MEPs. If elected, Von der Leyen would become the first woman to lead the EU executive. She will replace Jean-Claude Juncker in November.
