The women who stand up and make it known are the bravest of us all. Braver than me. If I stood up I am almost certain others would follow yet I am paralysed by fear. I have seen the condemnation, the scrutiny, the abuse these brave women are met with and I am too frightened to face it myself. His word against mine, and I know how many voices will shout from his side about how abused he is by my speaking out. And I am afraid. Those women who face that, who lead the way, they are the bravest of us all.
Now I'm not just an angry woman, I'm an angry mother and an angry feminist, and I have to assume that anyone who isn't angry simply doesn't know the truth, because how can anybody good, anybody who cares about other people, not be angry?
Right - it needs to be said: Feminism is causing problems. Not feminism, the belief that all people should have equal opportunities regardless of their sex or gender, perceived or otherwise. That's not in contention. Feminism, the word, is causing problems.
Much as I despise applying fixed rules, or games, to relationships, there is one part of the infamous Rules, which I know from experience to be valid, even to dating in 2014. A woman should never actively pursue a man. If he likes her enough, he will engage in the pursuit.
