They did it. An independent wrestling company drew 4000 fans and delivered the biggest and best live wrestling event in some 30 years. It wasn't any company though, it was Insane Championship Wrestling (ICW) and its business as usual because world eating is what they do.
Insane Championship Wrestling continues to make its mark on the UK wrestling scene. With an ever expanding brand, the company is set to become not just the best in the UK but a worldwide phenomenon. We were fortunate enough to interview one of the MVP's of the promotion, Grado, on the company's recent UK tour.
Our final stop and homecoming, had to be epic and what better way to finish than a night with ICW. Having colonised Scotland, the promotion had embarked upon its biggest UK tour and no doubt to the chagrin of southern promotions, had packed out Camden's KOKO for the night which is where we caught up with them.
Romero was magnificent, his stiff kicks prompting full-throated 'Rocky' chants. An intelligent wrestler, he wove a good story with Bodom, including plenty of pops and notably Romero clinging spider like to the ropes to avoid offences from his opponent.
