Socially Responsible Companies

I'm a serial entrepreneur and the founder of a global digital education content company, specializing in cross-cultural issues. I also happen to be a minority female from a traditional culture. I mention that fact last because it's the least relevant reason as to how and why I became an entrepreneur and how I run my business.
Can business be profitable and responsible? A great question considered by a panel rich in experience including the Chairman of Sky, the CEO of Waitrose and the CEO of the RSA. The discussion was convened by Sky as part of the CBI Great Business Debate driven by polling which discovered that 53% of people do not think business has a positive contribution to make to society.
Six years ago I founded a for-profit venture based on rewarding millions of Canadian consumers for making socially responsible decisions. The business exploded: Energy utilities, public transit authorities, waste management organisations, grocers and home improvement chains were soon clamouring to participate. The benefits were shared by everyone. Now we are bringing this venture to the UK.
