Taxi violence

Three minibus taxi owners and a bystander were injured in a shooting at Cape Town's busy Joe Slovo taxi rank near Canal Walk shopping mall on Tuesday morning.
The police minister reportedly met with crime intelligence officers this week to point out priority areas.
Western Cape Transport MEC Donald Grant has threatened to shut down Cape Town taxi ranks hit by recent violence and has asked Transport Minister Blade Nzimande to help resolve the war over routes.
The most recent involved a 60-year-old man, who was shot dead in Capital Drive, Khayelitsha on Saturday night.
Shocked South Africans want action on the death, allegedly in a taxi feud, of 21-year-old Taxify driver SIyabonga Ngcobo, who was burnt alive in his car.
The man was also linked to another murder in Langa, which happened earlier this month.
The incident was believed to be related to conflict over taxi routes.
