Ok, so some of this might not feel like small stuff, but I promise you it is. This doesn't bode well for me. For, in order to be 'successful' I have to survive on five hours' sleep, do exercise at the crack of dawn every day, hold down a career, be the perfect wife (and cook) and all the while eating healthily. Apparently these are all traits/ways of living that successful CEOs and Mumpreneurs observe, so they must be on to something, right?
Ultimately, support and understanding, not only from each other but also friends, family and work colleagues is what is paramount in retaining your health, sanity and relationship. Don't underestimate people, most folk have experienced a sleepless night and will know exactly how you feel if you're dealing with it on such a regular basis.
Too often, our culture assigns self-worth with productivity. We feel that time could be spent on something more worthwhile. When we are not working, we fill our time catching up on "life", doing that load of laundry, cleaning piled dishes, catching up on personal paperwork, checking emails and generally thinking about the gazillion errands that need to be run!
